Etwall Derbyshire Members: ...

Welcome to Etwall Bowls Club. Located in the pretty South Derbyshire village of Etwall, it features one of the finest greens in the county and provides excellent bowls and social facilities. The club was founded in 1965, and now runs numerous mens, ladies and mixed teams, playing in the Derby, Burton and Belper Leagues.

The green opens early April and during the season matches are played most afternoons Monday to Saturday and each evening Monday to Friday. In total we play around 250 league matches until the season ends in September. We're a friendly club, and are always delighted to welcome new members, of all ages.

GREEN OPEN
The green is now open (Sat 30 Mar). The first league match is on Wed 3 Apr (Belper Doubles).
AGM 2024
The AGM was held on Thu 28 Mar 2024 at 7pm in the Frank Wickham Hall. The minutes are now published in the private members section (accessed with the current gate code in the Members box).

Crown Green Bowls is a game for all ages, easy to play but takes a lot longer to master! It's an inexpensive sport, an ideal way of making new friends and helps to keep you fit. Etwall is a friendly club with an excellent bowling green and always extends a warm welcome to new members.

The club runs numerous men, women and mixed teams in several leagues catering for all standards from beginner to experienced. You can join as a social member which entitles you to use the facilities and play on the green whenever there is not a match being played, or join as a full member and play in one of our many leagues teams.

We have several teams which are perfect for members new to the sport, where you can enjoy competitive bowls in a relaxed atmosphere as your skill and experience builds. Take a look at our Teams page for more details.

The bowling season normally lasts from early April to end of September. If interested come and give it a try without obligation. All you need to begin with is a flat-soled pair of shoes and a willingness to try something different!

The green is situated next to King George Playing Field in Etwall. The address is Portland Street, Etwall, Derbyshire DE65 6JF

Vehicular access to the green is via Willington Road and then Portland Street, which is to the rear of the Spread Eagle Public House. The street is narrow, and the car park is straight up at the top of the street. There is a slight incline at the entrance to the car park.

Security on Chrome Browsers
Members using Chrome as their browser to access the club site may find it displays a red triangle and a 'Not secure' message when they access the Members' area. This is a security feature with Chrome and in our case nothing to worry about because we do not store any personal information on the site.
